About Cleveland Gary
In 1989, Miami Hurricanes Running Back Cleveland Gary went in the first round of the NFL draft as the 26th pick overall by the Los Angeles Rams. He took the field in the Running Back position for the Rams from 1989-1993 and then played his final year for the Miami Dolphins in 1994.
In 2002, Cleveland enjoyed a great season when he was among the league's top ten in rushes, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and rush/receive touchdowns.
Cleveland may be most remembered for his electrifying efforts to stop the 1989-1990 San Francisco 49ers from winning an all time record of 19 straight games. In that streak-ending game, Cleveland scored three touchdowns including one on a controversial pass from fullback Buford McGee.
